The Northparkes Difference

Our mine thrives on the success of our people, our community, our innovation and our environment. This is where safety is paramount, productivity accelerated, and careers are fast tracked.

We produce the vital components of our modern quality of life: the miracle of copper, gold and grains. They are the metal building blocks of electronics and infection-fighting surfaces, and the foundation of our food chain.

North Parkes Value Chain

Northparkes is a copper and gold mine located 27 kilometres north-west of Parkes, in the Central West of New South Wales, Australia.

In 2024 Northparkes will celebrate 30 years of operations and is known for innovative technology and committed people.

We use multiple mining methods including open pit, sub-level caving and was the first mine in Australia to use the block cave mining method.

Northparkes is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace with a long mine life and a vision of a century of mining together.

To achieve our vision of ‘A century of mining together’, we invest in the future of our community through meaningful partnerships.

Northparkes has two Community Investment Program rounds each year with $50,000 awarded to successful applicants each round – that’s a total of $100,000 in funding.

Applications are accepted year-round and are reviewed after the closing dates of 30 April and 31 October each year.

We support initiatives which contribute to the Parkes and Forbes local government areas in the following categories: economic development, culture and recreation, education and youth, environment and health.

“Arrived from Canada and landed a job where I’m supported from the top down, I couldn’t be happier. The opportunities are endless and I get to be home each day and do what I love.”
