Successful Community Investment Program H2 2022

On 21 December the second round of CMOC Northparkes (Northparkes) Community Investment funding recipients were announced. The Community Investment Program was first introduced in 2011, and it runs twice a year, with a total of $50,000 available each round. $40,000 is a contribution from Northparkes Mines and $10,000 is a contribution from Triple Flag. Since its inception, over $960,000 has been invested in the Parkes and Forbes Shires.

Northparkes Mines Managing Jianjun Tian said, “As a residential mine we want to invest in meaningful partnerships to support our people and communities into the future. The ongoing contributions to Parkes and Forbes Shire are crucial to our success as a company. The Community Investment Program has been a winning effort in supporting our organisation’s vision of “a century of mining, together”.

“During round two of the Community Investment Program for 2022, we received a range of high-quality applications, and the final decisions for allocating the funding is always an extremely difficult decision for our committee. I am excited to announce the recipients, and celebrate the achievements as these programs are implemented and look forward to continuing this program in the years to come.”

  • Parkes Shire Food Service Inc
  • Peak Hill Golf Club Inc
  • Rotary Club of Forbes Ipomoea
  • Trundle Central School
  • Parkes and District Kennel Club Inc
  • Forbes Rugby Union Club
  • Parkes Spaceman

The Community Investment Program has an independent committee, made up of local community members of Parkes and Forbes to review the applications and allocate the available funding. This involves ensuring the applications meet the economic, social, environmental, cultural, recreational and educational needs of the local communities.

The first round of the 2023 Community Investment Program will open 1 January 2023, closing April 30 2023.
