Apprenticeships

Through our Apprenticeship Program we are able to build a community of talented and experienced tradespeople whose skills will benefit both Northparkes and the community we all live and work in.

Our program combines theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on experience in the mining industry.

The three or four year program includes on-the-job training, coaching from experienced tradespeople and a qualification through a Registered Training Organisation. Apprentices are also paid a competitive salary.

Apprenticeships offered vary from year to year. Previous apprenticeships have included: Electrical Fitter, Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, Light Vehicle Mechanic and Draftsperson.

To be eligible for a Northparkes apprenticeship, you must be at least 17 years of age, have completed Year 12 or equivalent and receive good marks in English and Maths. You must also receive good school reports and/or be able to provide references. A drivers’ licence is desirable, as apprentices must be able to travel to and from the mine site and TAFE.

Applications are now closed for apprenticeships with Northparkes in 2017.
