Northparkes’ approach to managing the prevention of COVID-19 in the workplace

Northparkes’ approach to managing the prevention of COVID-19 in the workplace

As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we remain committed to following the advice of health professionals to ensure the health and safety of our people, contractors, the community and other external stakeholders.

We have implemented precautionary and preventative measures within our workplace where possible. These measures include:

  • Screening of temperatures for all workers at Access Control on entry to site
  • Passive Health Screen Questionnaire
  • Actively encouraging employees who are experiencing flu like symptoms to stay home as per our Leave Procedure
  • Reiterating the importance of respiratory and hand hygiene in the workplace
  • Continuing regular contact with contracting companies regarding their people
  • Liaising with employees returning from overseas travel to ensure they receive clearance in consultation with their Supervisor and the Health team to return to work
  • Increasing cleaning services

We are advising our employees to take all reasonable steps to avoid non-essential business travel and, where possible to use video and phone conferencing for meetings with external stakeholders and suppliers.

We will continue to closely monitor all information and directives from the World Health Organisation, health professionals and state and federal government to update our plans based on this advice and the evolving situation.

If you have any questions relating to work with Northparkes, please contact your Northparkes representative or alternatively call our Community and External Relations Advisor on 6861 3621.
