COVID-19 is a global situation that is moving fast, and we are and will continue to do everything we can to prevent the spread in our local community.

The Northparkes Difference

The world’s most automated underground mine thrives on the success of our people, our community, our innovation and our environment. This is where safety is paramount, productivity accelerated, lifestyle celebrated, diversity welcomed and careers are fast tracked.

Give it a crack!

“Arrived from Canada and landed a job where I’m supported from the top down, I couldn’t be happier. The opportunities are endless and I get to be home each day and do what I love.”
Chris McConnell – Electrical Technician

We produce the vital components of our modern quality of life: the miracle of copper, gold and grains. They are the metal building blocks of electronics and infection-fighting surfaces, and the foundation of our food chain.

Northparkes is a copper and gold mine located 27 kilometres north-west of Parkes, in the Central West of New South Wales, Australia.

Since 1993 we have been celebrated for our high-quality copper deposits, low cost operations and loyal, committed people.

Our operation is made up of an underground block cave mine, a sub-level cave and an ore processing plant which produces copper concentrate for export.

We will discover the copper and gold deposits to take us even further into the future. We are setting up future generations of Northparkes miners for ‘A century of mining together’.

To achieve our vision of ‘A century of mining together’, we invest in the future of our community through meaningful partnerships.

Northparkes has two Community Investment Program rounds each year with $40,000 awarded to successful applicants each round – that’s a total of $80,000 in funding.

Applications are accepted year-round and are reviewed after the closing dates of 30 April and 30 October each year.

We support initiatives which contribute to the Parkes and Forbes local government areas in the following categories: economic development, culture and recreation, education and youth, environment and health.
